Slovenia: last day in Bled and food in Best Western.

Day 8:

Lazy day, and the best food in Slovenia so far!

Slovenia: Wedding day

Saturday 19th of July

Day 7:

Today is the wedding day, the reason why we are in Slovenia. It is roasting, and we have to walk the distance from the guest house to the hotel where the reception will take place. After the ceremony, we will head to the upper hill where we will do some sledding. It is fun, even thought we have to way a great deal of time in the blazing heat. After that, we got back to the hotel to wait a few hours until the dinner time at 6.

The dinner will be held in the Bled castle, a lot of waiting and hanging around, gives us time to look at the view from the castle. The food is not memorable, but the wine flows.

Slovenia: Drinks at the beach in Bled

Friday 18th of July

Day 6:

Not much to do here, we have spent a while in Bled and I'm feeling restless. It is blazing hot, we struggled getting information about nearby hikes and free sportive activities... my brains are baking and I am just looking forward to leave this place.

But in the late afternoon, we will meet couple of friends that are in Bled for the wedding. We will spend a few hours drinking on the lake side.

Wednesday 16th July

Day 4: 

We will head to town later this night to have drinks, until early morning.

Slovenia: Vintgar gorges

Wednesday 16th July

Day 4: 

Today we will be heading to Vintgar gorges in the morning, and spend the afternoon in Vogel. 

The gorges are filled with tourists, it is far from being enjoyable. We basically walked in a line of people, taking the same pictures and squeezing each other to let the return line go. 

The gorges are beautiful, the water is clear and when the sun reaches the inside of the gorge, the water shines blue.

I am disappointed and cannot hide it, it is a pretty place, but I don't feel it. The infrastructure is made for the tourist that wants it easy. Maybe it is because clear water and gorges are something I grew up near, I am not impressed by those? I took fantastic shots, but in this case the photos look nicer than the actual attraction. We don't stay long and take the bus back to town.
